2019 Toyota RAV4 Preview | Trims, Features, and Release Date
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 is all-new from the ground up. Some changes are obvious on sight, like the new design that balances adventure and refinement. Other changes are only obvious in the handling, like the new platform.
The new RAV4 has a wider wheelbase, which both improves stability and interior space. It is also shorter in overall length, making it easier to park while also improving off-roading prowess. Ground clearance has increased, and the aerodynamics have been improved as well.
Trim Levels and Features
The new RAV4 will be available in three different trim packages: the Limited trim, which is packed with technology and premium features; the Adventure trim, which comes with a wide assortment of off-roading equipment; and the XSE trim, which is both a hybrid and the sportiest RAV4 yet. Tech-wise, it includes a 7-in. infotainment touchscreen.
Limited trim
The Limited is the most premium of the trim packages. It’s the only trim available with 19-in. wheels and chrome exterior accents. It comes standard with an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and optional heated and ventilated front seats. A front-row moonroof comes standard, but this can be swapped out for a panoramic moonroof.
Adventure trim
You’ll be able to recognize the off-roading 2019 Toyota RAV4 Adventure by its large over-fenders and high-rise roof rails. It’s also available with an Ice Edge-colored roof with a Midnight Black Metallic or Blue Flame-colored body. With the Multi-Terrain Select system, drivers can choose between different drive modes for snow, mud, sand, and rocks.
XSE trim
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 XSE is the fastest and most responsive RAV4 model in the line-up. It has a sport-tuned suspension with tauter shock absorbers and springs, and unique styling including LED headlights, a black roof, and piano-black exterior accents.
Engine and Drivetrain
The all-new Toyota RAV4 is powered by an all-new Dynamic Force 2.5L I4 and new eight-speed automatic transmission. Hybrid models use the Dynamic Force 2.5L I4 engine paired to the Toyota Hybrid System II and a CVT. A new Dynamic Vectoring All-Wheel Drive system with Rear Driveline Disconnect is also available.
Safety
The new RAV4 will also come equipped with the nest generation of Toyota Safety Sense™.
- Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection
- Full-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control
- Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist
- Automatic High Beams
- Lane Tracing Assist (new feature!)
- Road Sign Assist (new feature!)
