Engine Options
Most new 2019 Avalon models use a 3.5L V6 engine rated at an impressive 301 HP and 267 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s more than both the Nissan Maxima and the Ford Taurus. It earns up to 22 MPG city driving and 32 MPG on the highway.
The only exception is the new hybrid Avalon. This fuel-efficient premium sedan uses a 2.5L I4 engine rated at up to 43 MPG in the city and 44 MPG on the highway. It produces 176 HP and 163 lb.-ft. of torque. The XLE, XSE, and Limited trims are available with a hybrid powertrain while the Touring is not.
Safety & Technology Options
The new 2019 Toyota Avalon comes with a huge number of standard entertainment and safety features, although there are slight differences between the different trim packages.
- The XLE and XSE trims use Entune™ 3.0 Audio Plus with App Suite. This infotainment system includes a 9-in. touchscreen, 8 speakers, a GPS app, and more.
- The Limited and Touring trims use Entune™ 3.0 Premium Audio with App Suite, Dynamic Navigation, and JBL® with Clari-Fi™. This infotainment system includes a 9-in. touchscreen, 14 speakers, dynamic navigation, and more.
- All trims come with a 7-in. multi-information display in the instrument cluster.
- The Limited and Touring trims come with a 10-in. color Heads-Up Display.
- All trims come with four USB charge ports and a 12V auxiliary power outlet.
- All trims come with Toyota Safety Sense™ P, a suite of safety systems including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping, full-speed dynamic cruise control, and automatic high beams.
- All trims come with a blind spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert.
Additionally, the new Avalon is available with many optional packages that add additional technology features to select trim levels. For example, the XLE is available with a JBL Audio upgrade and moonroof, while the XSE is available with Engine Sound Enhancement. Both the Limited and Touring are available with the Advanced Safety Package, which includes a Bird’s Eye View Camera.
