Toyota enters a new era of powerful hybrid performance with the 2024 Toyota Tundra i-FORCE MAX. Read on to discover the unique elements that make the i-FORCE MAX such a modern powerhouse.
The Bold Hybrid Powertrain
The 2024 edition of the Tundra has a hybrid powertrain available for the Limited, Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro, and Capstone trims. The i-FORCE MAX positions an electric motor between the engine and transmission. The electric motor itself offers a boost of 48 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft of torque. This results in an electrifying 437 horsepower and 583 lb.-ft of torque for the thrilling new Tundra Hybrid.
The Smart Transmission
Every Tundra makes use of Toyota’s well-designed 10-speed automatic transmission. This transmission elevates the Tundra’s performance with intelligence, sequential shift mode, and uphill/downhill shift logic.
The Durable Battery Power
With so much power being delivered, Toyota carefully chose a durable battery for their hybrid powertrain. The 288V sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride battery with 1.87 kWh capacity has proven to be a superb choice. The electric motor itself is part of what makes this battery so durable. The electric motor uses its power control unit to deliver steady performance and keep the battery running well for as long as possible.
The Powerful Towing Capacity
The entry-level Limited trim has an impressive maximum towing capacity of 11,450 pounds. You’ll also have plenty of capacity to bring along items in the truck bed with the Limited’s 1,665 payload capacity.
While the other trims see a slight variation in towing capacity, they all offer more than 11,000 pounds of capacity. You’ll have the power required to tow your family boat or bring along ATVs with the Platinum’s 11,380 pounds of towing capacity, or the 11,175 pounds offered by the TRD Pro.
The Commanding Driver’s Space
Both the driver and front passenger seat come with eight-way power adjustable. They include two-way power-adjustable lumbar support for enhanced comfort. The seats are trimmed with SofTex and are both heated and ventilated. Thanks to the driver’s seat memory function, sharing your truck is a breeze.
Once behind the leather-wrapped steering wheel, you’ll have a clear view of the 12.3-inch digital meter. This selectable display is where you’ll see driver assist information, vehicle/trip info, warning messages, and track your fuel economy. Fortunately, buttons on the steering wheel make it easy to control the different gauges on your screen.
